On April 5, 2017, an impostor who occasionally posed as Prophet David Owour of the Repentance and Holiness Ministries on his Facebook account, was arraigned in a Mombasa court.
Donald Odede, an alleged owner of a fake Facebook account ‘nabii daktari David Owour, was accused of claiming to have healed Roseline Achieng, a HIV + woman alongside her child through prayers.
The Mombasa-based businesswoman who sales household items through social media recorded a statement over the same.
Appearing before Mombasa Resident Magistrate Viola Yator, Achieng narrated how she received phone calls from friends asking her why she confessed about her HIV status and agreed to share her photos.
However, the accused told the court that he received cash by Achieng's business rival to spread the allegations but never intended to ruin her reputation.
He was later released on a Sh80,000 bond.
