It is not every other day that one refuses to shake the hand of the head of state, the commander in chief of the armed forces.
Scores would trade an arm and leg just to feel the texture of the president's hand.
Expecting that to happen is akin to expecting a snowball in hell but believe it or not, that is exactly what Isiolo Women Rep Rehema Dida Jaldessa did to President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The president had just arrived in Garissa in military chopper and dignitaries from the North Eastern region had lined to greet him.
When he reached the Women Rep and extended his hand to her, she refused to take it.
She instead flashed a salute at the president.
It would later emerge that she did that because her religious principles forbade contact with males who are not one's husbands.
The development caught the president flat-footed and caused him some level of embarrassment.
Kenyans were quick to react to the reports of the 'snub', with some criticising the Women Rep for embarrassing the president and some congratulating her for holding fast to her religious convictions.
