Flying Squad officer stabbed, killed in drug den

A Flying Squad officer on Tuesday night succumbed to injuries after being stabbed by a member of Wakali Kwanza criminal gang in Kisauni, Mombasa.

He was attacked near the notorious Magodoroni drug den alongside his colleague who gunned down the attacker and injured two others.Police said the two escaped with bullet wounds.

The officer was rushed to Jocham Hospital after he was stabbed on the chest. He later died at Premier Hospital where he had been transferred.

Eyewitnesses said the duo were on a motorcycle and had visited the drug den which is believed to be the biggest in Coast.

"The officers arrived here on a motorcycle. They went to the den only for us to see one of them down bleeding and the suspected criminal dead after he was shot by the other officer," narrated an eyewitness.

Confirming the incident, Kisauni OCPD Sangura Musee said investigations were underway to arrest the killers.
