Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka has yet again defended his decision to recognize Uhuru Kenyatta as president terming his move as 'correct'.

Last week, Onyonka caused storm in NASA when he recognized Uhuru, drawing the attention of his party leader Moses Wetangula.

"Onyonka's position was personal. As a party, we do not recognize Uhuru and that is why we want to swear in Raila," Wetangula said.

His move has been condemned by Gusii leaders with a section of Kisii MCSs pushing for his removal from the coalition.

But at a function on Saturday, Onyonka reaffirmed NASA supporters of his position adding that he was informed by the constitution.

"At times we ought to be realists. Uhuru was sworn in legally and thus confirmed the president. Let us not speak out of emotions," he said.

At the expense of an ODM candidate in October's mini poll where Onyonka won, Raila had deserted his party's candidate Samuel Omwando in favour of Onyonka.
