"My presidential ambition will be expensive; 15-18 billion. But somebody has to do it. It is worth because I am not doing it just for me but for the people of Kenya," Mutua stated during an interview on Citizen TV.

Mutunga, however, attacked Mutua saying that he wants to buy votes from the residents. He said that the county boss' presidential dream is misguided.

"And he poses as an alternative political leader! Arrogantly telling us that he will BUY that election. He should tell us how he will get his investment back. Very unintelligent to claim he is doing it for us. Politics has become an industry with theft as profit," Mutunga responded.

The governor has maintained that he will be contesting for the nation’s top seat when that time comes.

The second term county boss has insisted that he has what it takes to beat Deputy President William Ruto in the contest. Mutua is, however, fighting to retain his seat after the Court of nullified his win during the August 2017 General elections.
