Former Kivumbini councillor Risper Ouma has told elected leaders to ensure they address the issues affecting youths.

Omare said it worries a lot to see youths engaging in activities that do not add value to them in the society.

“It is high time for the leaders to think about the welfare of the youths in the society. The youths are the foundation of any nation and when they lose focus then the nation is at a crisis,” she said.

The former civic leader also called on parents to be role models to their children and ensure they nurture.

“The first people to blame are we parents when our children go astray. I think as parents we have to be responsible and ensure our children do not engage in unproductive activities,” she said.

She spoke over the weekend during an exclusive interview on youths towards development in various sectors in the country.
