Maalim says that Uhuru should listen to the electoral reforms agenda if he wants to be safe and complete his tenure.Speaking to journalists in Garissa, the Wiper deputy leader said that Raila will not give on his quest for reforms.He said that the former Prime Minister is energized and will stop at nothing until when their institutional reforms and an end to electoral fraud and police impunity.Maalim said that there is no harm for Uhuru’s government to listen to Raila’s call for electoral reforms.“NASA is not pushing for a ‘Nusu Mkate’ government as it has been perceived and President Kenyatta shouldn’t fear the reforms agenda,” he said.Maalim who is opposing Raila’s planned swearing-in said that Kenyans have no confidence in the majority of the constitutional and independent offices which he said have been infiltrated by politicians.The former MP said that the best way to end electoral fraud is through reforms, adding that the country will be facing similar election problems if reforms agenda is trashed.Maalim, who unsuccessfully contested for the Garissa Township seat in the August 8 polls, warned Jubilee politicians against chest thumping and instead urged them support push for electoral reforms.NASA has maintained that it does not recognize Uhuru Kenyatta’s presidency and that it will swear in Raila Odinga as the people’s president.The opposition will on Monday next week unveil its program as it seeks to escalate the reforms agenda forward.
