The veteran broadcaster died on Friday at the Parklands Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas, USA, where she was being treated for metastatic brain tumours.

Before her death, Njoki had lost her voice as well as mobility due to the tumours.

Soon after leaving Kameme, she moved to the US where she co-founded Jambo Boston Radio and became its host.

The online station was later renamed Jambo Radio Network (JRN) and has been doing well under her leadership.

Njoki was among pioneer Kameme FM presenters alongside Penninah Muthoni Mbugua, Gathoni Wa Muchomba, Karungo Thang'wa, Njogu Njoroge, Evans Wanyoike, Shoe Kiratu, Sabina Wanjiru Chege among others.

'Wa Bull', as known by her fans, was popular due her 'Nyama Choma Mix' show which ran as Saturdays.

Her former colleagues and fans have sent their condolences, mourning her as a great radio personality.

"It is with sadness that I have learnt of the death of a friend and a former @kameme101 colleague Ms Njoki wa Ndegwa. #RIPwaBull. My heart and prayers goes to her family," Karungo Thang'wa tweeted on Saturday.
