The President Kenyatta’s Constitutional and Legal Affairs advisor turned the offer to become the ambassador of Kenya to Korea on personal grounds.

His name was among the 13 nominees to take over different jobs including Attorney General Kihara Kariuki.

He said he was glad to have been recognized for the job but he was not ready to take up the same.

“He courteously declined the position on personal grounds. It was a painful decision especially knowing his dedication to service of his country and the immense respect he has for the presidency,” a source revealed.

The former lawmaker also said that he lacks the expertise to take up the task he was given by the President following his re-election into power alongside his deputy William Ruto, who is set to replace him in State House come 2022.

“He also felt his expertise would be less suited or needed in that particular posting and that there were more suitable Kenyans to execute the task at hand,” added the source.

The move comes at a time when leaders have continued to elicit mixed reactions over President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Amolo Odinga bromance.
