A court in Nairobi has cleared of graft charges four former Nairobi County senior officials.

While delivering the ruling on Thursday, the Milimani Anti-Corruption Court said that the prosecution did not adequately prove its case against the accused.

Among the suspects was the county's former chief finance officer Jimmy Kiamba, former county secretary Lilian Ndegwa, Regina Rotich as well as former head of treasury Stephen Osiro.

They were being charged for defrauding City Hall of millions of shillings through unclear procurement deals.

Chief magistrate Kennedy Bidali pointed fingers at the prosecution and said that there was enough evidence that goods and services procured by the four were supplied.
