Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu has been warned against taking over the role of community spokesperson yet was once Raila Odinga’s spokesperson.

The chairman of the Kenya Coalition for Political Progress, James Mwangi, accused Ngunjiri and Gatundu South legislature Moses Kuria of fueling division in Jubilee and the country at large.

“Ngunjiri was once NASA leader Raila Odinga’s spokesperson. He is not Mt Kenya region’s mouthpiece and should desist from issuing remarks that stir unnecessary excitement among the people,” Mwangi said as reported by the Star.

Businessmen Lukas Ndegwa and James Murimi also weighed in the Jubilee succession politics. They said that traders are mad at reckless utterances from politicians.

Their address comes after Kuria criticized Ngunjiri for suggesting that DP William Ruto does not have guaranteed support from Central Kenya come 2022.

Ndegwa said, “It seems these people never learn. Didn’t they see what prolonged politics and campaigning did to the economy? We are trying to unite Kenyans. Our leaders should lead in such initiatives instead of continuing to make things hard for a nation that is trying to move forward.”
