Four General Service Unit(GSU) officers have been arrested for impersonating NEMA officials in Salama market Makueni county on Tuesday.

The officers were accused of extorting money from unsuspecting business people, however, the detectives who arrested them recovered all the stolen money and a vehicle belonging to a taxi driver. 

Three General Service Unit (GSU) officers and one female officer are attached to Ortum police station in East Pokot.

Detectives from the Mukaa Sub-County Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) managed to arrest them and recovered Sh16, 000. 

The officers have been identified as Constables Nicholas Odhiambo and David Musyoka Muthama both attached to the GSU Training School, Constable Harrison Okisai Mukada of GSU headquarters and Constable Nancy Kathure of Ortum police station in East Pokot.
