A fourth-year student at Egerton University, Njoro was Monday morning stabbed to death by her boyfriend who later stabbed himself in Njokerio market near university’s main campus.
According to sources, the suspect, who has been identified as Edmund Ruto, had earlier been discontinued from the university and used to live with the deceased.
A neighbour who spoke to this writer said the two engaged in a fierce quarrel which lasted for some few minutes before the man fatally stabbed the victim in their living room.
After the incident, the man locked himself up in the house and stabbed himself too but a crowd that had gathered outside broke the door and dragged him out.
The man was then rushed to Egerton dispensary in critical condition.
The body of the deceased was taken to Egerton University mortuary.
