The Ministry of Education has ordered the indefinite closure of Kamukunji Primary School in Nyandarua.
This is after teachers injured a class one boy’s genitals as part punishment.
Reports indicate that the pupil was caned by three teachers leading to his hospitalization.
Police have already launched a manhunt for the teachers who have gone into hiding.
Reports indicate that the pupil was found playing in class, and the three teachers took him to the staff room for punishment.
The boy’s mother, Mary Wangeci, confirmed the incident, adding that she had been informed of the unfortunate incident by the school headteacher.
"He started bleeding in his private area when he returned to class. The rest of the children informed the school head," Wangeci narrated.
The boy was then taken to the Nyahururu County Referral Hospital where doctors worked to restore his damaged organs to normalcy.
