The political future of Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi has been the subject of too much speculation over the last few weeks amid claims that he is on his way out of ODM and join forces with Deputy President William Ruto ahead of 2022.
Kingi who has been blowing hot and cold on whether he is still in ODM has held several meetings with Ruto who has been on a charm offensive of the region as he assembles his 2022 State House political machinery.
On Monday, during the ODM top executive meeting in Mombasa that was chaired by party leader Raila Odinga, Kingi was present and was the one who welcomed Governor Hassan Joho to speak.
His decision to attend the meeting is just a telltale sign that the firebrand governor is not just about to leave the party that gave him the political muscle.
