The governor has met different groups since his win was nullified by the appellant court.

On Saturday, he met residents at a popular T. Tot Restaurant in Machakos town where they had lunch.

Mutua has, however, maintained that he will remain in power regardless of the Supreme Court's ruling on his August 8, 2017 re-election.

On her part, former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti has exuded confidence that she will take the governor for an early retirement if they go back to the ballot.

Ndeti's former running mate Peter Mathuki said they moved to court because their win was stolen.

“We petitioned the election because we felt our votes were stolen. The burden of proof is on our side and we are ready to restore Machakos to its people,” Mathuki said.

Machakos County residents will have to wait longer before they can determine who will be their next governor.

Mutua has maintained that he won the elections free and fairly.

He has accused other politicians of fighting to finish him because of his stand on corruption in the country.

Mutua said he will not give up until he delivers his promises to the electorates.
