Speaking to journalists and supporters outside the Machakos law courts, he extended an olive branch to his challenger Wavinya Ndeti, saying that he is ready to accommodate her in his government.

"My sister Wavinya Ndeti should feel free to work with me in pushing the development agenda of Machakos  forward,’' he stated.

The Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader noted that since the petition was over his main agenda will be to continue pushing for service delivery in Machakos.

"The petition is now behind us and our agenda is to continue discharging our duties to Machakos people who elected us to office,’' he said.

Mutua's remarks came a few minutes after High court Judge Aggrey Muchelule dismissed an election petition filed by Ndeti challenging his re-election.

The judge stated that the petition lacked merit adding that the petitioner failed to provide evidence to substantiate her allegations against the governor .

Judge Muchelule ordered the former Kathiani MP to pay Sh10 million to the respondents to cater for costs incurred in the petition.
