Barely a year since elections were held and MPs sworn in, it has now emerged that there are 49 members of parliament who have never taken their time to speak in Parliament despite the fact that they were elected to represent their people in the assembly.
According to an online paper Mzalendo.com that the majority of the 49 have never raised an independent point but instead supported points raised by their colleagues.
Shockingly the legislators hail from Nyamira County alone including the area Women representative.
Joash Nyamoko (North Mugirango)
He was a vocal leader when he was a Nyamira Speaker during the period of 2013-2017 and he is a first time MP elected on a Jubilee ticket.
Jerusha Momanyi (Nyamira County)
She is also a Jubilee legislator who was elected for the first time after defeating Mrs Alice Chae .
Shadrack Mose (Kitutu Masaba)
Surprisingly Shadrack Mose replaced ODM treasure Timothy Bosire who was very vocal and he is also a first time MP who was elected through a Jubilee party.
The Speaker was quoted over the weekend by standard newspaper that he was ashamed with such kind of legislators who don’t contribute to the house on contagious issues.
“Majority of the MPs will go out boasting how they are working for their voters when yet they have never contributed even a single word” said Muturi
