According to Mzalendo.com, an online platform which keeps a keen observation on the legislator's performance in the house, a total of 49 lawmakers have been implicated in an ongoing silence trend among a section of the parliamentarians.

Among these is Nakuru county's Kuresoi South MP Joseph Tonui who is yet to either table a proposal or contribute in way.

His Subukia counterpart Samuel Gachobe was ranked among the poor debaters who have only took part in not more than 3 house discussions.

This comes at a time when the house leader Speaker Justin Muturi is lamenting of poor performance, noting that a big section of the remaining lawmakers lack commitment and are fond of evading vital lawmaking sittings.

''Many will get up as soon as I step out of the chair and retreat when the committee of the whole House is in session. Yet they will be the loudest out there telling their constituents about a law they never participated in legislating,'' Muturi is quoted by Standard.

Others in the list include vocal leaders Oscar Sudi of Kapseret and Kisumu Central's Fred Ouda.
