Kisumu Central Member of Parliament (MP) Fred Odhiambo Ouda captured the attention of residents of Nyanza long before being elected to the August House.

While serving as Central Gem Member of the County Assembly (MCA) in Siaya County after the 2013 general elections, Ouda was very vocal and aggressive.

This is the man who chained himself to the gate of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Nyanza regional headquarters to push for the resignation of IEBC commissioners.

This is the man who undressed in public to protest against what he termed as Deputy President William Ruto disrespecting opposition leader Raila Odinga.

All these actions swayed Kisumu Central residents to vote for him, believing that he was able to defend Raila Odinga in the Jubilee dominated parliament.

Before last year’s general elections, Ouda promised to deal with majority leader Aden Duale once in parliament.He was elected Kisumu Central MP on the ODM party ticket last year, after beating former MP Ken Obura Mirenga.

After elections, he suddenly went quietly with many wondering what suddenly became of him.

Earlier this week, Mzalendo.com released a report on the performance of current Members of Parliament and indicated that 49 MPs among have never spoken in parliament since being elected in August.   

Fred Ouda is among the 49 MPs.
