The cat correctly predicted Russia’s win over Saudi Arabia and then went on to correctly predict Iran’s win over African representatives Morocco.

The goal that compelled Morocco to a bitter opening defeat at the intercontinental showpiece was scored deep into added time just to show how the cat’s psychic powers work.

It is the second time in a tournament that a member of the animal kingdom is being used to predict the outcome of matches.

In 2010, the famed octopus Paul correctly predicted that Germany would lose to Spain in the semifinal of the world cup and it came to pass after Carles Puyol got the goal to condemn Germany to a semifinal defeat despite entering the game as slight favorites to progress having scored eight goals on the bounce in the round of sixteen and the quarters against England and Argentina respectively.

The cat basically predicts by choosing a bowl of food with a flag of opponents above the bowl.

African teams are performing dismally at the world cup with all of Nigeria, Tunisia and Morocco losing their opening matches to not so strong opposition except for Tunisia’s case.

It remains to be seen how the now famous cat’s prediction get down having picked the host nation to be the eventual winners of the competition.
