1.       Believes he is the sole decision maker

In this time and age, the man may be the head of the house but does not mean that he is the house. If you are a Kenyan man or you know of nay that still holds this belief that he should be the sole decision maker then that’s the clearest sign of a backward man.

2.      Sees FGM as being justifiable

Tradition or no tradition, it has been proven time and again that female genital mutilation is risky and has no benefits whatsoever. If you or a friend of yours still hold on to the idea that FGM is tradition then something must be wrong with either of you.

3.      Claims to discipline women by abusing them

To set the record straight, physical abuse of women is not only demeaning but is a punishable offense and the fact that you cannot solve disputes amicably makes you rank even lower in dignity as a man.

4.       Believes women and girls should not be educated

Equality has been the theme of everything since the turn of the century some 18 years back. But even with the clear benefits of educating the girl child and treating all genders equally, some men still find pride in segregating the female gender when it comes to education. This is a clear depiction of a backward man.

5.       Thinks politics is exclusively for men

Politics is a contentious issue here in Kenya, and many people think that only the male gender can survive in the political field. Well for your information, there are women who have done better in politics than their male counterparts. Holding on to this belief does not stop women from taking over politics but proves that you are a backward man.
