State Department reportedly threatened to deport Ex-IEBC commissioner Roselyn Akombe over her controversial exit from the commission, a source has confirmed.

A troubled Akombe dramatically resigned from the commission days to October repeat polls citing frustrations from the executive among other reasons.

"US ambassador Robert Godec led the mission of threatening her with revocation of citizenship if she continued commenting on her exit.

"They wanted her to keep quiet and allow elections to take place. They had also thretened to have her lose the UN job," said a senior ODM lawyer who spoke in confidence.

Raila Odinga's opposition NASA has been accusing US of sabotage and warned their continued 'interference' with internal issues of Kenya.

A visibly angered NASA chief executive Norman Magaya, on Sunday threatened to reveal 'misdeeds' by the US on Kenyan election crisis.

"Tomorrow we shall tell the world who Robert Godec and Nic Hailey are. From threats to Akombe to sustained election fraud cover up," he tweeted without further elaboration.

Despite historical mutual relationship with the US, Raila has been scolding Washington DC lately over August controversial polls.

And partly, the source says,  Akombe's decision to avoid couple of interviews was informed by the persistent threats hatched by Godec, whom the opposition has lost favour with.
