While speaking at Shanzu during a tree planting exercise Joho said that he had been meeting with Kiambu Senator Mr Kimani Wamatangi who he was not able to meet during the hotly contested 2017 elections despite the fact that they were bosom buddies.

"The Kiambu senator has been my friend from a while back, even before I got into politics. Let me confess, last year when things were heated politically, I was meeting with these guys in secrecy at night," said Joho.

Joho also lauded the Raila-Uhuru handshake stating that it has changed the political climate in Kenya and once again the nation is united.

"It is because of the handshake that is why we are here and I want to welcome the leaders who have come," he added.

"We are very happy to work with the national government because we will now be in a position to sort out a lot of issues affecting our people,' he said.
