Joho says that he is fit to replace President Uhuru Kenyatta as the county’s fifth president in 2022.

In an interview with the People Daily Newspaper on Monday, Joho assured his supporters that he will be on the presidential ballot come 2022.

According to Joho, he has the political experience and manpower to lead the country as the Head of State.

Joho argues that his leadership if elected in 2022 will focus on ending tribalism, ethnicity, marginalization and ensuring equitable distribution of the country’s resources.

The Mombasa governor notes that he is building his manifesto and will unveil it when the right time comes..

“I am equal to the task and will deliver if given a chance by Kenyans in 2022,” he said as quoted by the local daily.

Governor Joho said that he is not bothered on which party he will seek the top seat.

The Mombasa governor is considered as ODM party leader Raila Odinga’s ally.

Joho’s 2022 bid could suffer a blow if Odinga decides to contest in the presidential race.

Raila’s allies have maintained that he is still young and will be on the ballot in 2022.

There have however been speculations that governor Joho could seek partnership with Deputy President William Ruto who is also eyeing to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.
