With his security team, the Commissioner is supporting the move by county government of Uasin Gishu to demolish illegal structures as well as the eviction of hawkers around schools, for harboring criminal activities.

It is alleged that the structures near schools are used by criminals to hide from the hands of the police. They also make use of innocent school children to transport drugs, knowing police cannot suspect students easily.

"Our investigations have revealed that structures near schools and other learning institutions are hideouts for criminals who exploit students to traffic illicit brews and hard drugs'" said Hassan, as quoted by Daily Nation.

On the hand, the county government has vowed to keep on with their moves, to pull down all illegal structures as well evicting hawkers from the central business district and its surrounding areas.

County Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno has urged traders and hawkers to stop violating the law. He urged them to leave the streets and sell their goods at the market.

"Traders should relocate to markets and areas constructed to accommodate them, instead of violating the law by selling their wares on streets," said Deputy Governor Daniel Chemmo
