Speaking during the launch of a campaign to eradicate malaria at Treasury Square in Mombasa, Joho said that NASA leader Raila Amolo Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta’s recent truce will not change his 2022 plans.

Joho, who spoke for the first time after two-month long trip overseas, said that he will go for the nation’s top seat when that time comes. He also dismissed Deputy President William Ruto’s remarks that the constitution should not be changed after Tiaty MP William Kamket presented a bill seeking to reintroduce the post of Prime Minister in the government.

“Nobody owns the Constitution, it belongs to the people of Kenya and if they want it to be changed, so be it as long as it is in their interest,” said Mr Joho.

The second term county boss also assured his people that he will continue to serve them with diligence before he leaves for Presidential race.

“We have a simple agenda of inclusion, fighting marginalisaition, empowering Kenyans and transforming their lives. It is the people that will decide and vote,” he added.

DP Ruto, Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua are among the leaders who have expressed their interest in succeeding President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.
