Speaking during the Eid Baraza on Sunday in an event that was hosted attended by NASA leader Raila Odinga, Mombasa Women Representative Asha Hussein declared that Joho's journey to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta is unstoppable adding that Coast region will unite and rally behind his bid.

"If Ronald Ngala managed to become the Vice President of Kenya, what will stop Joho from becoming President?" posed the ODM MP.

Ronald Ngala was an independence era MP who was initially deputy leader of KADU which was later dissolved to join KANU in 1964.

Hussein's sentiment was backed by Likoni MP Mishi Mboko, a key Joho ally, who addressed the Governor as "Future President" saying he has what it takes to lead the country.

On Monday, when speaking during an ODM meeting in Mombasa,  Joho confirmed that ODM will field a presidential candidate in 2022.
