The MP, while speaking in Nyamira town on Friday, said children boycotting school should not be allowed to stay in villages idle.

“We can’t tolerate young people dropping school to stay in village idle. Police should arrest all school dropouts and take them to jail where they can continue getting education to better their future,” she noted.

Jerusha said parents should not frustrate the government’s efforts to ensure each child receives proper education for better future lives.

“I don’t see the reason as to why parents will not take their children to school or allow them to drop school yet the government is offering free day primary and secondary education.

"Parents whose children will be found roistering in villages during school time will also be arrested and prosecuted for neglecting their responsibilities,” she added.
