Four Jubilee Members of Parliament have rejected a directive by DP William Ruto asking them to resign from their parliamentary committee leadership positions.

The four; Alfred Keter (Nandi Hills), Silas Tiren (Moiben), David Bowen (Marakwet), and Alex Kosgey (Emgwen) noted that they will not quit their positions.

The lawmakers were elected as chairpersons of the Labor, Agriculture, Environment and Trade parliamentary committees.

According to media reports, the MPs met Ruto who allegedly asked them to resign from the positions.

According to Ruto, resigning from the positions will create regional balance.

Mr Bowen confirmed that the meeting happened although he did not attend.

"There is nothing about resigning. We were elected by Members of Parliament from across the political divide so the only people who can remove us are the legislators themselves," Bowen is quoted by Kenyans.co.ke.
