Even as the Tuesday ouster of Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula as Minority leader in the Senate continue to elicit mixed reactions across the political divide, former Kitutu Chache MP aspirant Anthony Kibagendi has defended the move saying it was necessary to cut the  Ford Kenya leader whom he accuses of arrogance to size.

Wetangula's fate as Senate Minority leader was sealed on Tuesday when ODM-allied Senators unanimously replaced him with Siaya Senator James Orengo. However, the move was protested by Wetangula's party members who accused the Orange party of planning to kill the giant opposition coalition.

But while defending the decision to replace the vocal Bungoma Senator, Kibagendi who was once in NASA before decamping to Jubilee, said that the move was necessary. He claimed that the Ford Kenya leader's arrogance was not good for leadership in the Senate.

" Of all NASA leaders, Wetangula has had reckless way of choosing words when talking about Jubilee or his opponents. His choice of words are not conciliatory," said the youthful MP during an interview on NTV on Thursday.

The Wetangula ouster was a culmination of many days of growing tension in the one-year old alliance after the famous President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga handshake.
