Omweri, speaking at Gesero area on Tuesday said the Jubilee government has offered free secondary education but parents are not taking their children to schools.

“The number of pupils who sat for KCPE in 2017 joining secondary schools is low especially in village schools. Parents should take their children to school before Friday because the government is paying fees for every student joining form one,” he said.

He asked local government administrators to ensure no child misses going to school in their areas of administration.

“Chiefs, assistant chiefs and Nyumba Kumi officials should conduct a crackdown in deep villages to ensure no child is left out. Let the parents take their children to be enrolled in secondary schools before closing of admission slated for this week Friday,” he added.
