More than 2000 members of Jumaa Farmers Company limited in Bahati Nakuru have called on the government through the ministry of Lands to intervene and have the long standing controversy over the land resolved.

The land buying company established in 1977 is embroiled in an ownership row pitting a former treasurer Njuguna Mbogo and directors of the company.

Speaking during a members meeting in Kabazi over the weekend, the members said that the government should take action as it did in the case of Kihiu Mwiri Company in Kiambu.

They regretted that it has taken so long to subdivide the 560 acres of land despite most members having died while struggling to have the land subdivided.

The members blamed well connected individuals whom they accused of derailing subdivision of the land.

More than 200 squatters who occupy part of the land have also asked the government to ensure the standoff over the land is resolved.

Most of them have been born and raised up in the land.
