President Uhuru Kenyatta is not keen on engaging NASA leader Raila Odinga in dialogue, Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohamed has said.

The MP criticised the President for ignoring Raila in efforts to re-unite the country, which according to him is sharply divided following the 'shambolic' elections.

"We are still in political crisis that must be resolved. Jubilee is living in an ivory tower and the President is not keen on extending an olive branch for talks with NASA," he said, speaking to Sunday Standard.

The Minority Whip in the National Assembly said the Opposition cancelled the December 12 swearing-in of Raila to give dialogue a chance, threatening NASA could swear in their leader before the end of the year.

"We did not call of the event; we only gave an opportunity to dialogue. We, however, are noticing that Jubilee is still in an ivory tower and thinks that Kenyans have moved on," he said.

Junet said Uhuru was holding a 'bird' in his hands and he can decide to squeeze to die or release it to fly, Sunday Standard further reports.

"That is how he can unlock the political crisis the country founds itself now after the sham election," he said.

The MP added: "If there is anybody who has moved on, then it is the 38 per cent that voted for Uhuru. The remaining 62 per cent are still stuck where they were before the October 26 poll."
