Jubilee politician Kalembe Ndile has asked Nairobi governor Mike Sonko to remain firm and not be bothered by the resignation of his Deputy Polycarp Igathe.

Ndile said Nairobians had elected Sonko thrice at various levels of leadership and therefore they knew he was able to lead without assistance from anyone.

He argued that voters elected him as their governor in the last general election and not Mr Igathe.

"I want to encourage governor Sonko to continue with his job without being intimidated. There are people who think he cannot lead.Igathe has no political experience," said the former Kibwezi MP.

The former legislator also said he was considering withdrawing his Independent Party from the Jubilee since he was not being consulted on various government appointments.
