As one would expect, scores of Kenyans waited to see how she would perform in her new job.

After the briefing, which ranged from the president's agenda in Ethiopia to the upcoming visit of former U.S President Barack Obama, Kenyans were quick to weigh in on how she did.

Garissa residents also shared their views.

Here is a sample of what they had to say:

"She didn't look to me as a deputy presidential spokesperson. She looked like a news anchor," Galgalo Sumo said.

"Kanze still has a lot to learn in terms of the demeanour to project as a presidential spokesperson," Ali Kamal said.

"I think she did well considering the fact that this was her first time," Juno Abdi said.

"Haters should leave her alone. I am proud of her," Mumina Abdullahi said.

"One learns these things progressivelly. Let's not be hard on her," Rege Salim said.

"Her demeanour was wanting I think. She looked as if she was not on top of things," Guyo Mohamed said.

"She looked lovely in that suit," Salima Korane said.
