Former Kakamega senator Bonnie Khalwale has challenged President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga against failure to fix the country.

According to Khalwale, the two leaders should use the handshake opportunity to fix things that ail the country.

"I caution the two leaders, if you are not going to fix the culture of impunity, tribalism, and corruption in the country, we shall become a failed state," said Khalwale.

On the numerous corruption scandals, Khalwale said that the issue involves leaders from both the opposition to and government.

"I have looked at the list of firms that benefited from the Sh 9 billion NYS scandal and it is unfortunate that both the government and opposition MPs are involved. If MPs are stealing from the public who is going to catch the thief? he posed.

He was speaking on Mumias during the burial of Kakamega Senator Wycliffe Opatranya's mother in law.

The burial was attended by Raila Odinga.
