Residents of Kibera are decrying the sorry state of the once famous Woodley Grounds.

The stadium has in the past gone under dilapidation with benches in the stands getting stolen or destroyed.

"D.C social ground ishakua barabara. Sasa Hii pia mbona isijengwe na kuna so much telent mtaa ama pia mpaka nyumba zi smamishwe hapo," Zagaughn Adam said.

This translates as: "The D.C social ground has become a road. Why can't this be built yet there is so much talent here. Or is it a must that houses be constructed at the venue?"

The residents pointed a finger at the local leadership, blaming elected politicians of the neglect that has resulted into the current pathetic condition.

"Woodley is no more aki hata afadhali enzi zetu thot saizi mambo imekuwa digital and we have leaders like Okoth with all that masomo surely,"said Bruce Opiyo.

(The stadium is no more. Better during our days because we thought that by now things would be good in this digital era with leaders like Ken Okoth with all his education)

"The Area MP can afford to remain Silent on this," said Muss Obatal.

"Kuna siku watu wata amka asubui wapate maindi ime pandwa apa na miwa," said Bossman Joseph Otieno.

(A day will come when people will wake up to find maize or sugarcane planted there.)

"Yaani hadi viti za mbao haziko. Diz needs urgency," said Jojees Ochy.

New estate coming soon arap mashamba ako radar," speculated Alalu Olubayo.

Others thought that the ground would be a better sporting facility if the local leaders partnered with corporates to give it a facelift.

"Hii grao wangelink up na sportpesa ingeundwa poa sana. Instead wanaipiga vita! Nkt," Ibrahim Muumin said.
