Speaking in Wote, Makueni County during the launch of the drive on Tuesday, Kibwana said the move is laudable.

Kibwana said his government is committed to ensuring that there are reduced accidents in the region.

“We are committed to working with NTSA and security agencies in reducing accidents in Makueni,” the county boss said.

According to the NTSA's deputy director in charge of strategies Duncan Kibogong, the authority is ready to collaborate with 20 counties in the entire nation to reduce the number of accidents on the roads.

Kibogong said recent statistics show that about 3,000 lives are lost every year on the roads.

“We need to work together because road safety is everyone’s responsibility. We need to change the behavior of drivers, passengers and other road users,” Kibogong said.

Makueni County Police Commander Joseph Napeiyan and County traffic chief Ezra Ouma were in attendance.
