[Photo/ Kimani Ichung'wa/Facebook]Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wa has confirmed that a programme aimed at lighting-up all Kikuyu constituency homes is still on track. The programme dubbed 'Light-up Kikuyu Constituency' is aimed at facilitating all residents to affordably connect their households to the national grid."This programme is geared towards achieving 100 percent power connectivity in Kikuyu Constituency and we are already on it. Hon. Kimani Ichungwa would like to inform all residents of Kikuyu who do not have electricity in their homes to come to Kikuyu CDF offices," reads part of a statement released by the MPs office on Monday.Residents have been asked to carry along with them their KRA pins, a copy of their IDs, phone contacts and provide the names of their respective villages."Kindly bring the documents from Monday 15/1/2018 to Friday 26/1/2018 at Kikuyu CDF offices or take the details to your area MCA's office during office hours," adds the statement. Some of the 'unconnected' residents have lauded the MPs desire to light up the whole constituency saying it will bring the much-needed development in the peri-urban constituency."Kikuyu is the bedroom of many Nairobians who work but come to sleep here and, therefore, lighting up the whole constituency means this place can only become attractive," John Kiragu, a Kikuyu town resident said on Tuesday.Ndung'u Kagwima writing on Facebook asked MPs from other Kiambu constituencies neighbouring Nairobi to follow Ichungwa's steps saying they were 'positive and helpful to ordinary mwananchi'.
