Kisii law court Judge Hellen Omondi has ordered for scrutiny and recount of ballot papers in six polling stations in a petition challenging Kisii Governor James Ongwae's victory.

This was after the petitioner Makori  Onsando filed an application for audit and scrutiny of all the declared number of registered voters.

Polling stations which should be scrutinised and be recounted are Endereti primary school stream 2, Gaitei primary school stream 1 and 2, Nyantira primary school stream 1 and 2 and Nyachenge polling station. On the application, the petitioner argued that the mentioned polling stations had irregularities and illegalities such as striking similarities in votes garnered, lack of credible and verifiable register and the difference in votes cast in the six elective posts. The respondent  Lawyer  Okongo Omogeni told the court to dismiss the petition because it lacks basis evidence.
