Kisumu County through the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts and Sports headed by CeC Achie Alai unveiled Kisumu All Stars team to play in the National Super League, taking up the slot provided by the Football Federation of Kenya (FKF).

Alai said the move was in line with Governor Anyang' Nyong'o's Manifesto of promoting Sports and Artistic talent development.

She said her department had taken the initiative to actualize such a dream in the most transparent way.

Trials were held at all the seven sub-counties to select the most talented players to form this team.

County wide trials were on Friday January 12 through to Saturday January 13, 2018 for the final selection. 118 players went through the process to reveal the final team.

This was conducted by a team of prominent local coaches under the National Technical Director of FKF Andreas Spiers and his deputy Michael Amenga.

Governor Anyang' Nyong'o acknowledged all the coaches and technical experts in the County who worked relentlessly to ensure that the process had been achieved.

"We laud all the players from across the County who have participated in this journey," he said on Saturday.
