The event attended by Deputy Governor Dr Ochieng Owili aimed at allowing the county leadership exchange ideas with residents on the best way to jack development in the lakeside county.

The theme of the event was Sustainable, Productive, Effective and Efficient Government for Result Delivery.

Among areas extensively explored were agriculture especially fish farming, which is the backbone for Kisumu County's economy.

All departments in the county government were given opportunity to explain to the residents plans they have for the devolved unit in the next five years when the country will hold another election.

Another sector deeply exploited was infrastructure industry where those in attendance put the county to task to explain the bad state of specific roads deemed important as they link farmers to markets.

Thomas Owiti the Public Works Chief Executive Committee member told the gathering that  the county has an elaborate plan to improve roads and aid in the transportation of produce to markets.

He said all roads within Kisumu town will be tarmacked to ease movement of people within Kenya's third largest town.

Dr Owili asked all CeCs to ensure they play their role and make Kisumu a model county.
