Wambua argues that he was not invited because he did not support the petition signed to send Wetangula packing as the senate minority leader.

In an exclusive interview with the People Daily, the Wiper senator said Wetangula’s ouster was not in order.

He stated that the manner in which Wetangula was removed from the position was demeaning and embarrassing.

“I was not invited to the NASA senators meeting that ousted Wetangula because they knew I would not have voted  in support,” Wambua said.

The Kitui senator asked Wetangula to remain firm and continue working with NASA principals in the push for electoral reforms and justice in the country.

Wetangula was ousted on Tuesday after eighteen senators mostly Raila Odinga’s ODM party voted to oust him and have him replaced with Siaya senator James Orengo.

Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has since pleaded with senator Orengo not to take up the position for the interest of NASA coalition.

Kalonzo argues that NASA is likely to collapse if Orengo takes the senate minority leader position.

Several politicians allied to Wetangula and ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi have since hit out at Raila Odinga asking him to forget about the Luhya community support moving forward.

The politicians say that Raila’s party embarrassed their son (Wetangula) by voting him out as the senate minority leader.

Raila is expected to meet NASA senators today in efforts to save the besieged Bungoma senator.
