Chepkoilel Branch Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) secretary general Sammy Bor has faulted the move by acting Education CS Fred Matiang'i of ordering that all school buses be painted yellow by March 30.

He said this move is uncalled for and should be condemned with the strongest terms possible.

“As a union, we don’t support this move and we want school buses to retain their normal colors since they are supposed to be painted according to the school uniforms,” he said in Eldoret town, Saturday."Are schools buses passenger service vehicles for them to be printed yellow this time around he has gone too far.I want to urge him to always dialogue with all education stakeholders before implementing any new rules," he added.Last year, MPs passed Traffic (Amendment) Bill, 2016 which requires all school buses to be of yellow color.

The law requires institution names written in black and that the vehicles have all prescribed signage and also fitted with seat belts.
