Only moments after the two leaders met and decided to shelve their political differences in search of national unity, the former Lagdera lawmaker now says that more needs to be done for the country to achieve the same.

He said that contrary to Uhuru and Odinga's 2-man closed meeting at Harambee House on Friday, another well organized and nationally inclusive dialogue needs to be prepared.

He observed that the move taken by the two was a rather shallow approach to the political division issue, doubting its ability to better the situation.

"The catchword is national dialogue that brings together all organized sectors of our society including scholars/intelligentsia. Not few politicians locking themselves in a hotel rooms or offices," said Maalim in a tweet Saturday.

"Quick fixes are not options. Complex holistic approaches are the way to address," added the former National Assembly Deputy Speaker.

This, however, comes at a time when the party leader and opposition coalition National Super Alliance (NASA) co-leader Kalonzo Musyoka has expressed mixed reactions regarding the talks.

Addressing mourners in Mua Machakos county Saturday, Musyoka, who is yet to approve the development, said that it has opened ways for a possible national dialogue in the near future.
