Police officers in Eldoret have arrested a man linked to the murder of an administration police officer who was attached to Eldoret Polytechnic.
The suspect identified as Isaac Nyairo Ondora was arrested in Langas following a successful tip off from members of the public on Saturday.
Ondora is accused of murdering Constable Joseph Kilunda Ndinda.
Ndinda was killed and his body dumped along Eldoret – Kapsabet road on February 14.
According to Eldoret East OCPD Wilson Abduba lauded members of the public for the good cooperation with police officers to end crime.
"Members of the public are doing a commendable job in efforts to end crime. Criminals hiding in the villages must be flushed out," said Abduba.
The OCPD advised the public not to take the law into their hands by killing one another.
Ondora was taken to court on Monday but didn’t take plea after the court directed that he be taken to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital for a mental assessment before he can stand trial.
The court ruled that the prosecution should line up witnesses to testify in the case and serve the accused with charge sheets.
The case will be mentioned on Thursday March 15, 2018 and hearing will be set same day.
