A man was attacked and injured by suspected thugs at Riomanga along Kisii – Kilgoris road on Monday.
Speaking from his Hema hospital bed on Thursday, Jonah Miruka, said he was tricked by the criminals that they could accompany him home before unleashing.
“The thugs were in a probox car along Kisii –Kilgoris road on Monday at around 8 pm. I was at a matatu alone waiting for a matatu to board and go home.
"They demanded money from and when I refused the beat me up and stole my Sh30,000 which I had a mobile phone and meat I had bought,” he said.
Miruka said they threatened to kill him if he could alert police officers to trail them.
"The three thugs throw me out of the car when they had taken my money leaving me stranded with injuries on my head, abdomen and hands. They fled towards Kilgoris route," he added.
Reached for a comment Kisii County police commander Hassan Abdi said the victim has already recorded a statement with police and investigations has been launched.
"We are investigating the matter we have hopes that we will arrest the criminals," he said.
