A middle aged man has been charged with theft in Kangundo, Machakos County.

Nelson Mutiso was arraigned in Kangundo Law Courts on Monday.

He allegedly stole five cows worth Sh125,000 belonging to Richard Sila at Matungulu in Machakos County.

Mutiso, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against him.

He appeared before senior principal magistrate Desderious Orimba.

The court heard that the accused committed the offense on February 14, 2018.

He was released on Sh400,000 bond with a surety of the same amount.

The case is set for mention on February 28, 2018.

In the same court, another suspect Simon Mukolo was charged with stealing his mother's cow, a goat and a sheep in May, 2017.

According to the prosecution, the accused committed the offense at Kambusu village in Matungulu, Machakos County.

Mukolo was arrested in January this year after he was found in possession of the livestock.

The case is set for hearing on February 28,2018.
