A man has chased his wife from their native home after she bleached her face.
This happened on Saturday at Nyamokenye village, Bogiakumu ward in Kisii County.
Locals said that the man came back from Nairobi county where he works and found his wife looking differently.
"I rushed to the homestead after I heard them quarelling to investigate what the issue was. That is when I saw the man throwing his wife's belongings outside the house," said Douglas Ochere, a local.
Mr Ochere said that the man was referring to his wife as a prostitute who opted to bleach her skin as a move to lure men.
He said that efforts to help the duo solve their differences hit the wall.
"The man was claiming that the wife wants to infect him with AIDS and he was not ready for that," said Mr Ochere.
Area Nyumba Kumi official Elvis Mochache said the woman reported the matter to them but the man refused to speak to them.
"We then decided to give the lady a place to put up in as we try to pursuade the man to change his stand," he said.
However, contacted the woman said that she opted out of the man's life and will never ever get back to him.
"I even let him stay with the kids afterall I left my parent's home without the kids," she said.
